Sims 3 - Farm Life Challenge Rules

Hi all!  I had a request from a viewer to type up the "rules" for my farm life challenge, which I am doing in the Sims 3.  So, I am listing them below.  Please feel free to comment below if you have any questions.

You can watch this challenge on my SockBunnySims YouTube channel.  ;)

Also, I am making this up as I go along, so all rules are subject to "interpretation." ;)

Sims 3 Farm Life Challenge "Rules"

Goal:  Live off of farming and fishing and then eventually buy and move into Grandpa's Grove (which costs around $180K simoleans)

*  Create any sim in any neighborhood you like.
*  DO NOT give them traits that would make them better at farming or cooking.  So, do not give them green thumb, angler, or natural cook.  Other than that, any traits are fine.
*  You can have any aspiration you want.  I chose one related to gardening.
*  I personally am playing this challenge with only the base game, Seasons expansion pack (to make gardening and fishing and being outdoors more of a challenge), Town Life stuff pack (because I like the laundromat), and the Katy Perry stuff pack (because I am obsessed with it hahaha).
*  Cheats can only be used for glitches.
*  Mods are okay as long as they don't give you an advantage.
*  You must wait until your second year to get married.  But, the person can move in with you before that.
*  You cannot have any children until after the first year.

Money
*  You can move into any house/lot you want, but money cheats are not allowed.  You do not have to set your funds to zero, unless you want to make it more challenging.
*  Your spouse can have any job, or they can just help out on the farm.  You can marry for money, but that will make it less of a challenge, in my opinion.  If you marry someone rich, you could always set family funds back to whatever it was before you got married.
*  Your children cannot have jobs.  They can only make money through gardening or fishing (or selling gems, bugs, etc.).
*  No selling flowers for money.
*  It is okay to sell the following for money:  rocks/gems, insects, suns from the Plants vs. Zombie dancing sunflower, plants, seeds, fish, eggs, honey, milk, etc.
*  If you have a consignment store, you can only buy things there.  No selling.
*  If you want a car, you can steal one (if you are a kleptomaniac), or you can make one with the Classically Cool Fixer-Upper car,  But you can't sell the fixer upper cars for money.  You can make as many as you want for family members, too.  If someone moves in with you, and they already have a car (or space ship!), you can keep it.
*  Playing the lottery is okay.  It is not okay to go to the future and look up winning numbers, however, if you have Into the Future.
*  Dumpster diving is okay.
*  Going to the junkyard and getting scraps is okay.  You can bring items home from the junkyard, too, since that is glitched and you can't make money from it.
*  If you find a money tree seed, you can plant it and grow the money tree for money.

Lifespan
*  You can use life fruit and the spa to make yourself younger if you want.
*  It is okay to have a death flower and use it.
*  You can play the challenge as one sim or as a generational challenge, whichever you prefer.

Farming
*  You can create a garden in your town to go harvest from.  To make it more challenging, do not use a greenhouse on public lots.
*  You can harvest plants in the neighborhood to get started, or you can buy from the grocery store.
*  You can create a greenhouse on your own lot.
*  You can buy the tractor whenever you can afford it.
*  If you have the Ambitions expansion pack, you can become a self-employed gardener or angler.
*  You can own the following to make money from them:  cows, chickens, bees.
*  If you have the Pets expansion pack, you can raise horses for money.
*  You can use the SwiftGro Gardening Station on your lot.
*  You can buy and sell with the Fruit and Veggie Stand.

Skills
*  Reading skill books is okay, even on the multitab.
*  Listening to tabcasts is not okay.
*  Earning skills with the TV and radio are fine.

Let me know what questions you have!

If you decide to do this challenge, I would love to hear from you!

And, thanks for coming to visit my blog. ;)
